November in Melbourne…. Football fades to a memory as the roses begin to bloom, and spring promises, then disappoints, and then promises again. For the last 18 years the weekend before the Melbourne Cup has been the time for classic craft to come together on the northern waters of Port Phillip, to celebrate the values of Classic Boat sailing.
The 2024 event is expected to be a particularly memorable occasion starting with the only timber yacht One Design event in Australia, followed by two days of fleet racing. Centred around Victoria’s oldest yacht club, (RYCV) on water events will be enhanced by a variety of social occasions. At this early stage we already have commitments to attend from sailors from four Australian States and New Zealand, and we hope to expand on the 40+ boat entries from last year.
