There’s a new event festival format being considered. The idea of a passage race to Geelong on the prior Friday isn’t practical.
What’s being considered is organising the no charge availability of RGYC marina pens starting the weekend prior to the festival. This feature will allow entrants to sail to Geelong the weekend prior to the festival. The festival organisers plan is to bring more boat to people. Sailing activities of previous festivals didn’t allow this feature to work.
When the sailing activities of the last festival were cancelled for high wind conditions, the organisers saw a huge increase in public viewing attendance on the new RGYC Marina walkway facility. They want a repeat of this experience.
