Calling all Pirates

08 December, 2025 – Melbourne

Potential Vagabonds an opportunity has arisen for somebody looking for a restoration project to take on custodianship of the Ohlson 35, Corsair.

Designed as a cruiser in 1955, the Ohlson 35 proved to be an adept racer and as such was named “the Racing Machine”. With over 150 built they became very popular in the US after success with a 36′ variant in the Bermuda ocean race.

Built in 1962, the Yawl Corsair is of Honduran mahogany over white oak ribs, she has had a teak interior fit-out in the last few years. Her hull is sound but she will need a new engine as part of any restoration. Whoever is lucky enough to take on this yacht and put the time in to her restoration will be rewarded with a beautiful, highly credentialed classic yacht that will turn heads on the water.

Corsair, is offered free to a serious new custodian (no, what do you call a maritime tyre-kicker?). She is able to be inspected at Hobson’s Bay Yacht Club, in Melbourne, but time is limited and she will soon meet the chainsaw, so get in now!!

Inquiries can be made and forwarded through the CYAA website, here
