The Cup Regatta planning is racing along. Bookings are open for the social events with a full house of events organised. On the water, racing will include the Tumlaren Challenge on the Friday, two days of racing over the Saturday and Sunday, and an additional special race planned for Monday (not included in Regatta points score), that will provide an additional sailing experience on Port Phillip for our crews and visitors.
One of the special things about the Cup Regatta is the number of international and interstate visitors who make their way to Melbourne each year to participate in the regatta. The CYAA aims to ensure that all visitors have the best experience possible, and to ensure this we aim for all visitors to be assigned to a variety of yachts over the course of the weekend.
Co-ordination of visiting crew with CYAA entrants is being done by David McKenzie. We are hoping that most CYAA yachts can host a visitor on board for at least one day of the regatta.
We are asking skippers to indicate whether they require crew and are happy to take visitors on board and, if so, how many and on which days.
