CYAA Cup Regatta 2025 – Day 2

The second day of the 2025 Cup Regatta is done and dusted and what a great day we enjoyed.

Race 1 was a classic windward leeward return in a 8kt southerly, whilst for Race 2 things freshened a little from the forecast misery to a healthy 12-14kts and a wing mark thrown in for good measure.

Overall for the day:

In Division 1, Boambillee the 1968 Sparkman and Stephens 36 footer, showed the fleet a clean set of heels to come in ahead of the the perennial front-runner Mercedes III and the dark horse Cyan. Some have called for a weigh in.

Division 2, the Tumlarens, saw Yvonne after the disappointment of the Friday get dealt the jigger and romp home ahead of Dingo and Zephyr.

Division 3 saw Marama,  with John Russell-Cook on the bit come in by a neck from Alwyn and a Race 2 DNF Astrud. She should be good for the run.

Division 4 saw a close tussle between the colts form SSCBC, with Rob Tucker wielding the whip on the crew aboard Morning Star to head the Coutas home. Tony and Michael have called for a swab.

Division 5, the one-horse race Saw Hotspur score the Quinella. She appears unbeatable.

So as they round the bend they are entering the home straight.

Well done to all!
