The bi-annual Sydney Amateur Sailing Club’s Centenarians Rally is on from September 29 to October 12 this year.
Originally conceived to celebrate the 100th birthday of the yacht Hoana (1925), the event is open to vessels over 100 years old.
Sixteen historic craft (power and sail) will be on the Heritage pontoon at the Australian National Marine Museaum in Sydney with shoreside historical displays and practical demonstrations of maritime skills courtesy of the Wooden Boat Association NSW.
On the Sunday morning (12th Oct), with the Square Rigger the ames Craig (1874) leading the way the vessels will proceed to Athol Bight for a sail past and a lap of honour around Shark and Clark islands before culminating at the SASC for an afternoon of festivities.
Get involved, be it spectating, crewing or volunteering.
