Zephyr – On the move

17 July, 2024

Great to see on the television the other night, the footage of Zephyr at her new home, the boatshed of Ferdi and Wendy Darley in Williamstown.

See the Channel 7 footage here.

After  facing a very dire future it is wonderful to see this fabulous vessel, purported to be the oldest in Australia, about to undergo a complete restoration which will preserve her for many years to come.

The restoration effort to be in the open on the old Korevaar slip at Williamstown, will encourage local youth to get involved under the astute tutelage of Ferdi, in the preservation of our maritime history.

The CYAA is pleased to have had a minor involvement in the process thus far, and we will look at ways to get involved further going forward, in particular with fundraising, as the restoration is projected to absorb more than $1M.

If you would like to get involved please contact us.
